About Us

Oliver McGuigan

I have created art works in one form or another for over 20 yrs.  I work primarily in ink, but also acrylic and oil pastel.  I have also created many works in oil. I studied both art and ceramics at college, but most of my work is the result of years as a self-taught professional artist. I have exhibited publicly in galleries and in public spaces and have undertaken several commissions.  I have also undertaken projects that require concept art.

I would describe my art as follows:  I keep my art free from the need for conformity, allowing my work to be done through the form of free expression.

I work primarily with graphite, ink and acrylic and also photography, but have in the past used oil as a medium.  I started doing art seriously whilst attending college.  From there I became involved in performing arts whilst working.  Although I branched off into the performing arts side of my education, I still kept a keen interest in art and design and have attended different courses over the years, from still life and screen printing, to needle point and soft furnishings.   My passions and ideas come from things I enjoy or feel strongly about, and I love creating things that come from inspirations that are visual or pertain to an intense feelling.
